Solar Control Glass Upgrade for Local Office
A local company approached us looking to reduce solar heat gain in their office building. After a site assessment, we recommended replacing the existing glazed units in their curtain walling with high-performance solar control glass.
⚙️ Solar Control Glass Specification
We supplied and installed energy-efficient sealed units using Cool-Lite SKN 175 glass — ideal for reducing unwanted heat without compromising on natural light.
Glass Make-Up:

6mm Cool-Lite SKN 175 Toughened (TUFF CYMRU)

18mm Argon-filled cavity with Warm Edge Swiss Spacer

4mm Clear Toughened (TUFF CYMRU)
All units were manufactured in-house using our TUFF CYMRU branded toughened safety glass, ensuring total control over quality and turnaround.

The new glazing offered substantial performance gains over the original units:

♻️ Glass Recycling & Sustainability Commitment
Here at CS Glaziers, we take sustainability seriously. As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility, we removed and crushed all the existing 6mm glazing using our in-house glass crusher.
The crushed glass is then returned to the glass manufacturer, where it re-enters the supply chain to become brand-new glass — a closed-loop process that helps reduce environmental impact and supports circular production.
This project alone saved 244.17kg in CO₂ emissions, simply by recycling rather than sending the old units to landfill.
We’re also proud to support the Glass Forever scheme, which promotes the endless recyclability of glass. It’s a principle we live by — and build into every project.
