Steel-Look Internal Doors Installed in Cefn-y-Bedd
If you’ve spent any time browsing Pinterest, Instagram or the latest interior design magazines, you’ll have noticed one trend that continues to dominate modern homes – steel-look internal doors.
Inspired by classic industrial architecture, today’s heritage steel-look designs combine timeless elegance with modern craftsmanship. Their slim aluminium frames, clean lines and glazed panels create beautifully defined spaces while allowing natural light to flow effortlessly throughout the home. It’s no surprise they’ve become one of the UK’s most sought-after interior design features.
This recent installation in Cefn-y-Bedd perfectly showcases why steel-look internal doors continue to grow in popularity. Our team manufactured and installed a bespoke single internal door with fixed sidelights. We finished the system in RAL 9005 (Jet Black) and glazed it with 8mm TUFF CYMRU clear toughened safety glass. The 25mm plant-on glazing bars create an authentic heritage steel-look. They recreate the appearance of traditional steel-framed glazing while offering the strength, precision and low maintenance of modern aluminium.
Every stage of this project was completed by our experienced team. We fabricated the aluminium frames in-house, cut every pane of glass ourselves and toughened the glass in our own TUFF CYMRU toughening plant before expertly installing the finished system. This hands-on approach allows us to maintain exceptional quality control and deliver truly bespoke products that are built to last.

Why Steel-Look Internal Doors Are One of Today’s Biggest Home Trends
Homeowners are increasingly looking for ways to create flexible living spaces without sacrificing light or the feeling of openness. While open-plan living remains popular, many people now want to define individual rooms to improve privacy, reduce noise and create dedicated spaces for working, relaxing or entertaining.
This is where steel-look internal doors excel.
They divide rooms without making your home feel enclosed. Large glazed panels maximise natural daylight. The slim black framework creates a striking architectural feature that complements both contemporary and traditional interiors.
Whether installed between a kitchen and dining room, separating a lounge from a hallway or creating a stylish home office, heritage steel-look internal doors add character, sophistication and practicality to any home.

Manufactured In-House for Outstanding Quality
At CS Glaziers, we believe quality begins long before installation.
Unlike many suppliers, we manufacture our bespoke steel-look internal doors in-house. This gives us complete control over fabrication and ensures every installation meets our exacting standards.
For this project, we:
- Fabricated the aluminium frames in our workshop.
- Cut every glass panel in-house.
- Toughened all safety glass in our own TUFF CYMRU toughening plant.
- Glazed the system with 8mm clear toughened safety glass.
- Applied 25mm plant-on glazing bars to achieve the authentic heritage steel-look.
- Installed the complete system with our experienced fitting team.
This level of in-house manufacturing allows us to deliver precision, consistency and a bespoke finish that’s made specifically for each customer.

The Beauty of Heritage Steel-Look Design
One of the reasons steel-look internal doors have remained so popular is their timeless appeal.
The bold black framework provides contrast against lighter interiors, while the symmetrical glazing bars create balance and visual interest. The result is a clean, elegant aesthetic that works beautifully in everything from modern new builds and barn conversions to Victorian terraces and traditional cottages.
Unlike many interior design trends that come and go, the heritage steel-look has proven to be a lasting choice, offering style that will continue to look impressive for years to come.

Built Around Your Home
Every home is different, which is why every internal glazing system we manufacture is made completely bespoke.
Following a detailed site survey, each door and sidelight is manufactured to the exact dimensions of the opening, ensuring a perfect fit and flawless operation.
Customers can choose from a wide range of options, including:
- Single doors.
